Icehawks News from the Nest - October 13, 2012

It's not the same as opening day at Yankee Stadium, but this weekend is the opening of the rink at the Canterbury School. And, later this month, the Gunnery opens up and we’ll back at Rumsey Hall, too. Either way, it's good to be back on home ice.  By the end of the weekend, all teams will have had a chance to play or practice at home.

Maybe it’s a good time to review the rules at the rink.  Actually, let’s consider the first and most important rule: “We are guests at the Canterbury, Gunnery and Rumsey rinks”.  If you keep that in mind, the rest is common sense.  Each team page has a link to a list of the rink rules.

Merchandise

Now that we're back on home ice, it's time to think about ordering merchandise. Your team managers will be accepting orders from now until October 22nd. We have a set of offerings this year that I'm sure you will find attractive. Visit the merchandise tab on our website to have a look at this year's selection.  In addition to the October order, we will be placing a second order just prior to Thanksgiving so that the merchandise can be received in time for the holidays.

Seeking Sponsors.

This year, with the help of Joe Robinson, Northwestern Hockey will be producing a tournament programs which will be given out to everyone attending our Thanksgiving and Christmas Tournaments. The program will include important tournament information and will include sponsor advertisements from local businesses along with messages from our families. But, we need your help. We are looking for volunteers to reach out to local businesses to help sponsor our tournament booklet.  Please consider helping out with this important fundraising effort. Contact   directly to coordinate which businesses you can contact.
